household products

Household products such as detergents and biocides are subject to specific rules, in particular Regulation 648/2004 on detergents; Regulation 528/2012 concerning the making available on the market and use of biocidal products. These rules detail both composition and labelling requirements for this category of products.

In addition, as from 1 June 2015, the labelling of both detergents and biocidal products are subject to Regulation 1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (the “CLP Regulation”). The CLP Regulation harmonises the classification and labelling of certain active substances such as the warnings and pictograms which must be included on the label.
